We heard you wanted to make shortbread cookies!
The perfect recipe for the holidays, made with ingredients so simple,
you might already have them in your pantry!

This is the first-ever recipe whipped up by our founders, Michel and Augustin, back in 2004 in Paris.
It took them awhile to get the recipe just right - and we wanted to share it with YOU!

INGREDIENTS
8 Tbsp. butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

TOOLS
Rolling pin, baking sheet, parchment paper, plastic wrap, your own two hands. Optional: wooden spoon.

STEPS
1. Cream the butter and the sugar in a bowl.
No need for a blender - it might actually be easiest to just use your hands!
2. Add the egg. You can use your hands again here, or grab a wooden spoon.
3. Add your flour and salt. The dough is ready when it's smooth and sticks together
and you can make a ball and it stays together.
We also don't want to over work it.
4. Seal it up in some plastic wrap and pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes and up to two days.
This will allow you to roll it out more easily!
5. Preheat your oven to 350
6. Sprinkle your workspace with flour.
7. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin.
8. Use a cookie cutter to make as many little cookies as possible.
9. Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet and pop it in your oven for 10 minutes.
10. Keep an eye on your cookies. When they're golden brown, remove from the oven.
C'est tout! Let them cool for a few minutes... then enjoy!
